Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley has admitted that his side face a tough game against West Bromwich Albion this weekend, but has insisted that his players will be up for the challenge.

Cowley was appointed as the new manager of Huddersfield earlier this month, but his first game in charge of the Terriers ended in a 2-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.

His first away game in charge of the club is against West Brom on Sunday lunchtime. The Baggies have made a strong start to the new season under Slaven Bilic and are the only side the Championship with an unbeaten record.

Cowley has been speaking to the media ahead of the game at the Hawthorns and has admitted that his side are in for a difficult game.

However, Cowley had insisted that his side know all about West Brom's strengths and is hoping that they'll be able to take advantage of their weaknesses.

“It’s been a tough start for us, West Brom unbeaten and going to the Hawthorns,” Cowley said at his pre-match press conference.

“We know how they will play and what their strengths are. The front four are very good with all different qualities. Like all teams, though, they’ll have moments of weakness.”

Cowley took charge of Huddersfield earlier this month, replacing Jan Siewert who was sacked last month, just four games into the new season.

Siewert took charge of the Terriers earlier this year, but was unable to save the team from relegation from the Premier League and left the club with just one win from his 19 matches in charge.

Huddersfield have lost their last six games in all competitions and are currently second from bottom of the Championship table, after taking just one point from a possible 21 so far this season.

The Verdict

It'll be a tough game for Huddersfield at the weekend, there's no doubt about that. West Brom are a good side and they've made a good start to the new season under Bilic.

They've got some very talented attacking players in their side and the Hawthorns is always a tough place to go.

However, as Cowley says, every team has their moments of weakness and it's up to Huddersfield to try to take advantage of them at the weekend.

Cowley is a good manager and I think he could be a good appointment for Huddersfield, but he hasn't got a lot of time to turn things around and if the team don't start to pick up some points soon, they could be in trouble.
