Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley has provided a positive update on the fitness of both Alex Pritchard and Terence Kongolo, as well as his thoughts on Danny Simpson ahead of the Terriers' clash against Hull City at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.

The Terriers head into the game on the back of their first victory of the season, which they secured with a late 1-0 win at Stoke City, to offer hope that Huddersfield can start to build some momentum and push up the table in the coming weeks under Cowley's guidance.

Kongolo has missed out on Huddersfield's last two matches against Millwall and Stoke having picked up a calf injury in the Terries' 4-2 defeat at West Bromwich Albion a few weeks ago, and the defender's presence and versatility will be welcome in the coming weeks when he returns to fitness.

Pritchard, meanwhile, has not played a minute under Cowley yet, with the midfielder suffering with a knee injury that has kept him out of Huddersfield's games against Sheffield Wednesday, West Brom, Millwall and Stoke.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game against Hull on Saturday, Cowley revealed that both Kongolo and Pritchard have been back training and could both be back involved against Hull.

Cowley also suggested that new signing Simpson could also be involved against Hull, after the experienced defender made his first two appearances for the club against Millwall and Stoke.

The Verdict

Huddersfield will be boosted by the news that both Pritchard and Kongolo could be involved against Hull, with the Terriers desperate to maintain their recent momentum from picking up four points in their last two matches, and Cowley will be wanting as many of his most important players available to him as possible.

Pritchard's return is important for the Terriers, with the midfielder able to offer a creative presence to Huddersfield's attack, and Cowley will be keen to get him into his side to see what he can offer and how effective he can be in the coming weeks.

Kongolo, meanwhile, offers plenty of versatility to Huddersfield's defence and the defender will be keen to re-gain his place in the team in the coming weeks, while Simpson has already demonstrated the calming experience he can offer with a solid performance in the Terriers win at Stoke on Tuesday.
