Wolves last night announced the departure of local lad Jack Price who has left the club to join Colorado Rapids in the MLS after 18 years at the club.

The midfielder played over 100 games for Wolves but had found himself on the periphery under Nuno Espirito Santo this season after the likes of Ruben Neves and Alfred N’Diaye joined the club.

Price was largely restricted to appearances in the Carabao Cup and failed to make the squad in recent weeks.

Therefore, it was little surprise to see the player depart for the States, however he was a popular player with fans and teammates in the Black Country.

Club captain Danny Batth, who came through the ranks with Price, took to twitter this morning to share a touching message to the 25-year old.

It was accompanied with an image of the pair celebrating after a Wolves win at Molineux as he wished him all the best in America.

Price’s biggest contribution in a gold shirt came during the League One title winning season where he formed an effective midfield partnership with Kevin McDonald as Kenny Jackett’s men went up in style.

The Verdict

Even though he never really established himself as a regular apart from when Wolves were in League One, Price was a very popular figure.

He always gave his all for the team and spoke about how much it meant to play for the club and as the tweet from Batth proves, he was also respected by the players.

The duo will have known each other for years and the tweet is a nice way of Batth to publicly show his appreciation for his mate as he makes this big move.
