Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel has shared a message with fans after the Tykes' promotion to the Championship was confirmed on Tuesday night.

With Peterborough United beating Portsmouth and Fleetwood Town seeing off Sunderland it became impossible for the second-placed side to be caught.

And Stendel was quick to express his delight, all be it in a brief way.

Taking to Instagram, the German shared a photograph of himself celebrating, along with the caption: "YES."

Stendel's impact has been instant since taking over at the club in the summer, implementing a slick attacking style as well as building a resolute defence.

Barnsley are still in with a very good chance of winning the League One title on the final day, currently sat level on points with the Hatters.

The Tykes travel to Bristol Rovers whilst Mick Harford welcomes an in form Oxford Untied to Kenilworth Road on a day that could go either way.

The verdict

Stendel seriously deserves this.

For me he has been the best manager in League One. To pick up a relegated team, dust them down and turn them into a force is not an easy feet but he has made it look easy.

They head back into the Championship in a very strong position.
