Norwich City have emerged as shock promotion contenders this season and Daniel Farke has been earning rave reviews in his first managerial spell in England.

The Canaries are just a point behind league-leaders Leeds United heading towards Christmas and supporters will be confident of retaining their place in the automatic promotion places.

Their impressive start to the season hasn't gone unnoticed with Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, stating in a recent interview that he keeps an eye on the Canaries' performances this season.

Farke has responded to Klopp's latest comments on his side in an interview with the Eastern Daily Press.

"Without a doubt Jurgen Klopp knows what he is doing and what he is saying. He proved this over many years," said Farke, who became U23s coach at Dortmund six months after Klopp had left for England.

The Norwich City boss also jokingly admitted that he doesn't want Klopp raiding Carrow Road to sign his best players: "It is a bit of extra motivation for our players because he said he follows our way. He knows several of the players involved. A good sign.

"A bit scared now if Liverpool is interested in signing some of those players! For that it is always good to hear some compliments from a man like Jurgen."

Norwich will be hoping to continue their impressive run of form when they take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park at the weekend, where they will be confident of cementing their place in the automatic promotion positions.

The Verdict

It's no surprise to see Norwich earning high amounts of praise.

Not many would have predicted to see them battling with the Championship heavyweights for promotion this season, and Farke has worked wonders with the Canaries.

It's highly unlikely that Liverpool will be chasing any of Farke's squad, but he will be keen to hold on to his key players ahead of the January transfer window, where interest in his players could intensify.
