Norwich City have welcomed Onel Hernandez back to training this week, with Daniel Farke hoping he can reintroduce the forward at the weekend.

Hernandez started the season in terrific form for the Canaries, with the 25-year-old returning two goals and three assists in seven Championship appearances.

After undergoing hernia surgery, Hernandez missed the last three Championship fixtures.

However, Farke has provided an update on Hernandez to Norwich’s official website, confirming that the Canaries have welcomed the forward back to training.

“Onel Hernandez trained for the first time with us on Tuesday," Farke said.

"It's too early to have him for Derby but he could be an option for Stoke on Saturday."

Despite the absence of the influential Hernandez, Norwich find themselves on a strong run ahead of tomorrow night’s clash with Derby.

Norwich have won four consecutive Championship fixtures, even with Hernandez missing the last three.

That terrific run has lifted Norwich to fifth in the Championship table, with Saturday’s victory over Wigan Athletic leaving Farke’s side in a great position.

The 1-0 success over Wigan came thanks to Mario Vrancic’s late penalty.

The Verdict

This is obviously great news for Norwich, who are flying at the moment in the Championship.

Hernandez was amongst their most impressive players during a tough start to the season, so adding him to a squad finding their best is going to be big for Farke.

You could see the Canaries going from strength-to-strength in the coming month.
