Norwich City extended their winless run to four games on Saturday against Barnsley, with Josh Murphy's third league goal of the season not enough to record a much-needed win.

The draw leaves the Canaries 12th and although they are only three points away from the play-offs, there poor run of recent form will be alarming. However, one pleasing aspect is the performances Murphy is producing.

Taking into account the Carabao Cup tie at Arsenal, the talented winger has three goals in his last five games and boss Daniel Farke made a significant claim about just how good the 22-year old could be at his press conference today.

If, at his age, he played every game to a consistently very high level, he'd be at Manchester City or Chelsea. We support him."

That message will be designed to try and get more consistency out of Murphy who does infuriate fans at times, but it also highlights just how much Farke believes in the academy graduate.

The Yellows will look to get back to winning ways on Tuesday when they travel to Nottingham Forest and Murphy is sure to have a big role to play.

The Verdict

Daniel Farke might be going over the top with his priase by suggesting that Josh Murphy would be at Man City or Chelsea, but you can see what he means and it will be a confidence boost to his player.

Murphy is very talented and needs to be more consistent. He has seen his twin brother get a move to the Premier League and he has the ability to do the same.

However, as Farke stresses, it's all about consistency. Until he can perform well over a lengthy period of time he won't get to where he should be at.
