Norwich City boss Daniel Farke has admitted January signing Marcus Edwards has a lot of work to do before he gets in the team.

The 19-year old arrived from Tottenham in the winter window with much expected of him, given the plaudits he has received whilst coming through the North London club's academy.

Yet, he hasn’t even made the matchday squad for the Canaries since he arrived in Norfolk and has become something of a forgotten man already.

And, speaking to the club’s media, Farke revealed exactly what the youngster needs to do to get in the team.

Marcus Edwards is still not where we want him with his attitude against the ball. He is improving.”

Despite noting his improvement, the German boss indicated a first-team start is still a long way away for the attacking midfielder.

This moment is not the right one to bring such a player in. We have to focus more on our defensive behaviour.”

The Yellows are up against Barnsley on Tuesday evening and will be looking to end a run of six games without a win.

The Verdict

This move has been a disaster for Spurs, Norwich and Edwards with the player clearly a long way off the first-team.

A lot was expected of him when he joined, particularly as Alex Pritchard had left Carrow Road but it hasn’t worked out.

All Edwards can do is try and adapt and play as Farke wants to hopefully get a chance, but it doesn’t seem likely at the moment.
