Norwich City manager Daniel Farke conceded that the best team won as the Canaries fell to a 2-0 defeat at home to Wolves last night.

The visitors were comfortable throughout and could've won by a more handsome margin if it wasn't for some great last-ditch blocks.

Having spent heavily to bring in Ruben Neves, who controlled the midfield, and added high-profile loans such as Willy Boly and Diogo Jota, it's fair to say Wolves have the best squad in the league.

Speaking to the official site, Farke admitted that they simply were too good on the night. “We played a team with better quality and we have to accept our loss. We tried to fight to the end against the quality but we lost to the better team. They were defending so deep in a 5-4-1 and the quality in the counter-attacks was outstanding for this league.

The Yellows were unfortunate not to take the lead when a Marley Watkins header hit the post and for all Wolves' quality, it was two set-piece goals that proved the hosts undoing.

Farke's men will look to bounce back from successive defeats when they take on bottom of the table Bolton this weekend.

The Verdict

That's very high praise indeed for Wolves from Daniel Farke and it's refreshing to hear such honesty from a manager who has lost.

Clearly, with the quality Wolves have, they can do this to teams and it was just unfortunate for Norwich that the Black Country side appeared to click.

The Canaries weren't helped with injuries and other absentees, so there's no need to be too disheartened. They will look to get back into the play-offs with a win at the Macron on Saturday.
