Norwich City will be without Kenny McLean for this weekend’s trip to Bramall Lane.

Canaries boss Daniel Farke has given a team news update ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Sheffield United.

Norwich will be looking to get back to winning ways after a 4-3 defeat at the hands of West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

Tuesday’s Carabao Cup tie ended in decisive fashion with a 3-1 win over Stevenage to advance to the second round.

Back to league matters, however, and Norwich could welcome back the pair of Tom Trybull and Marco Stiepermann who both picked up knocks in the midweek cup tie.

With the two Canaries returning, Farke will be without Ivo Pinot and Todd Cantwell for the trip to Yorkshire due to illness.

Jamal Lewis will travel but this weekend comes too soon for Emi Buendia who has just returned to training after the birth of his first child earlier in the week.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Farke said: "We have some bad news with Kenny McLean. He's picked up a ligament injury and will be out until after the international break.

“Tom Trybull is available, so that is some good news, it was just a dead leg. Marco Stiepermann is also okay.

“He struggled a bit after the game, but he was tough and is available.”

McLean will be the biggest miss after sustaining a ligament injury in training after the League Cup tie.

The 26-year-old and featured in all three of Norwich’s fixtures this season.

The Verdict

Apart from Kenny McLean’s absence, the Norwich side should be as you were for the trip to Bramall Lane.

The midfielder has played a part for the Canaries this season, playing 101 minutes in the league so far and featured in the Carabao Cup win.

Despite his injury, Daniel Farke’s men should have enough in them to field a strong side in this weekend’s fixture.

The other absentees would have probably missed out on featuring if they were fit with the expectation that the same side that narrowly lost with West Brom will be given a chance to make amends
