Norwich City boss Daniel Farke has confirmed this afternoon that Bali Mumba and Adam Idah will be out until the New Year.

The duo have suffered injuries that will keep them out for ten weeks, with Idah's coming in the much-criticised international break, when he was away with Ireland.

"Bali Mumba has rolled his knee and damaged his inner ligament. He will be out for ten weeks. Similar timeframe for Adam Idah. He came back injured from international duty and is also out for ten weeks," the boss told the club's media.

Whilst the Canaries have a big squad, this is not the news the German would have wanted as they prepare for what is a very busy schedule.

For Mumba, the setback will be a particular blow as he had just made his first real impact in the first-team since moving from Sunderland in the win over Swansea almost two weeks ago. The 19-year-old's introduction swung the game the Yellows way as he shone with his energy and willingness to get forward.

Meanwhile, it will be further frustration for Idah, as he missed three games through suspension before being an unused sub against the Welsh side.

Quiz: Did these 17 Norwich City players ever actually score a league goal for the club?

The verdict

Firstly, you have to feel sorry for the two youngsters as they are players with huge potential and they were making an impact for Norwich this season.

That will frustrate Farke as well, although he does have the squad to cope with such setbacks.

Now, it's down to those players who will come in to take their chance and there's more than enough talent at Carrow Road to ensure their fine form continues in the coming weeks and months.
