Plymouth cruised to an emphatic 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in midweek to book their place in the next round of the FA Cup.

Argyle were put into the lead by a Jordan Garrick effort within the first 20 minutes of the first half. It gave the club a good building block to work with and they then managed to expand that lead just over 15 minutes later through Ryan Hardie.

Ryan Lowe's side continued to push and wrapped up the win in the 67th minute, when Garrick added to his and his team's tally to make it a comfortable 3-0 victory.

The whole of the Plymouth team were on form during the course of the game and it was a big statement of intent from the team to dump out a divisional rival in such style in the cup - and now, defender Dan Scarr has taken to Twitter to express his delight at the result.

Scarr featured in the game and he, alongside James Wilson and Macauley Gillesphey in a backline of three, managed to keep out the Owls all game and kept a clean sheet.

The defender is understandably delighted at the performance and the result - and he'll be hoping that his side can continue their good vein of form in the league this weekend, as they take on Charlton in what should be an intriguing fixture.

Scarr has been a mainstay in the team so far this campaign, featuring 17 times for the club. He has looked a rock at the back and has proven to be a key figure for Ryan Lowe, as the third tier outfit push for a promotion spot.

The Verdict

Dan Scarr has been superb for Plymouth so far this season and he was at it again last night. He and his teammates kept Sheffield Wednesday at bay in what was a tremendous performance by all involved.

Ryan Lowe and his team are making a real statement of intent this year and if they keep it up, they'll be certs for promotion. Scarr will certainly be hoping they can achieve it, as will the rest of the team.
