Derby County have wasted no time in getting their transfer business done this summer following the completion of their takeover and the club being lifted out of administration.

The Rams have already wrapped up agreements with the likes of Joe Wildsmith, Tom Barkhuizen and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing ahead of their League One campaign, and there are plenty more reportedly in the pipeline.

With that in mind, here are all the latest Derby County transfer headlines that you might have missed.

Curtis Davies update

One transfer story revolving the club all summer has been the future of club captain Curtis Davies.

The experienced central defender has been reported to have Championship interest in his services, but in the latest update regarding his future, Rams fans can perhaps be more optimistic.

As per journalist Ryan Conway, Derby County are now increasingly confident of keeping hold of the 37-year-old this summer.

The only hold up appears to be that Davies is seeking clarification on his future beyond this season both on and off the pitch, as per Conway.

Premier League duo eyed

Another transfer news story that broke very recently is that the club are eyeing a duo from the Premier League.

As per The Athletic's Andy Naylor, the Rams' interim boss Liam Rosenior is making the most of his Brighton contacts and hoping to lure goalkeeper Carl Rushworth and defender Haydon Roberts to Pride Park on loan deals.

21-year-old Rushworth spent last campaign on loan in League Two with Walsall, making 46 appearances in all competitions for the club.

Haydon Roberts, meanwhile, is a central defender that has previously been on loan in League One back in 2020/21 with Rochdale.

Chelsea transfer swoop

As per reports, the Rams are also trying to sign another player from a Premier League club.

Chelsea's George Nunn is being eyed, as per the Guardian's Jacob Steinberg.

Southampton are also interested too, though, who are clearly a bigger draw at this stage due to their Premier League status.

A move to Derby would offer the opportunity to earn first team football though, which could appeal to the youngster.

This is certainly one to watch in the coming weeks.
