Premier League outfit Crystal Palace could be set to make a summer swoop for Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul, the Croydon Advertiser is reporting.
The Dutch stopper has been out of action since suffering a serious knee ligament injury back in October, but does look set to return in time for the start of pre-season.
The Magpies were relegated from the Premier League in May and now face a summer of upheaval with several high profile players set to depart St James’ Park in the coming months, whilst several others are likely to sign for the club.
Palace boss Alan Pardew knows exactly how good Krul can be and is now prepared to go ahead with a move for the 28-year-old, as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
The custodian has featured for the Magpies over 150 times and his departure would represent a massive blow for Rafa Benitez’s team.
Newcastle United fans, how would you feel about this departure? Should the club try and keep Krul? Would he be willing to stay in the Championship?
