Crystal Palace are considering whether or not to make an offer to sign Bristol City attacker Antoine Semenyo, Daily Telegraph journalist John Percy has reported.

Semenyo has again be the subject of much attention throughout this January transfer window, with Bournemouth reportedly seeing two bids - the second worth £10million - rejected for the attacker.

But while Bristol City have held firm so far, it seems they could soon have fresh interest in the 23-year-old to deal with.

According to this latest update, Palace themselves are now weighing up the prospect of bidding for Semenyo, before the window closes on Tuesday.

It is suggested that the Ghanaian international could leave Bristol City in this next week, with his current contract at Ashton Gate set to expire at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Since making his Bristol City debut in 2018, Semenyo has gone on to make 125 appearances in all competitions for the Robins, scoring 21 goals and providing 22 assists in that time.

The Verdict

This does look as though it could be a rather useful signing for Crystal Palace to make.

As a young player catching the eye with some exciting performances in the Championship, he does fit the mould for the sort of player the Selhurst Park club would target.

Indeed, given they have enjoyed plenty of success with the likes of Ebere Eze and Michael Olise since they made similar moves, you feel there may be confidence this one could work well for them as well.

Add in the fact that there does seem to be some pressure on Palace to invest in what remains of the window, and it would not be a huge surprise to see them make a bid for Semenyo in the coming days.
