Premier League side Crystal Palace could be set to launch a second bid for Brentford attacker Ollie Watkins.

The Eagles saw an £11m approach for the wide forward rejected earlier in the week, but according to the Mirror, Palace manager Hodgson will make a move again for Watkins as he looks to add some attacking firepower to his team.

Watkins was a key figure for the Bees last season as he fired in ten goals and contributed eight assists to the cause as Thomas Frank's men came up short of making a sustained run at the play-offs.

However, that form has seemingly caught the eye of onlooking Premier League clubs, and Palace will  now look to make a second move for Watkins after seeing their earlier attempts rebuffed.

23-year-old Watkins could then become the latest in a long line of players who have left Brentford in the last few seasons as the club have operated a model which sees them bring players in via their extensive scouting network, before selling them on for massive profit.

Indeed, striker Neal Maupay is also a wanted man this summer, with Brighton the latest club to fancy taking the French striker from Griffin Park.

It is clear Brentford are demanding big money for their star attacking duo though, as Thomas Frank attempts to keep hold of players who contributed just under 40 goals for his side last term.

The Verdict

This seems to have an air of inevitability about it in all honesty, with Palace looking to make a second and more improved offer.

Usually when Premier League clubs maintain an interest, it's just a matter of agreeing a fee, and I get the feeling this could be done soon.

Watkins will be a massive loss for Brentford, but deserves his Premier League chance and will no doubt be a success in the top flight.
