Crystal Palace have entered the race to sign highly rated Brighton midfielder Dale Stephens, according to the Croydon Advertiser.
Burnley have been heavily linked with the central midfielder but it appears that the Premier League new boys now have competition from Alan Pardew’s Palace side, as they both look to recruit this summer.
Brighton will be desperate to hold onto their midfield asset as his performances were instrumental to Brighton’s success last season.
He formed a formidable partnership with Beram Kayal and earned lots of plaudits over the year. His passing range and composure are his main attributes but he can also contribute with goals and assists.
The 27-year-old previously played at Charlton before making his switch to the Seagulls in 2014.
Burnley had apparently been targeting the 5’7” playmaker as well as Derby’s Jeff Hendrick as they look to bolster the centre of midfield. But Crystal Palace have now provided competition as they look to add new faces for next season
Brighton fans – what do you think? What price would you demand for Stephens? Who could you bring in to replace him?
