Crystal Palace are the latest team interested in Blackburn striker Rudy Gestede, reports the Daily Mail.
Gestede has been the subject of interest from West Brom, Hull City and Queens Park Rangers during January and now new Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew looks to expand his goalscoring options, by trying to sign the 26-year-old.
The Frenchman was the top goalscorer in the Championship during 2014, and currently has 12 goals this season.
He signed for Blackburn in January 2014, after an initial loan spell from Cardiff, which was made permanent for £200, 000.
In his press conference today, Rovers manager Gary Bowyer revealed that there was Premier League interest in Gestede, and that Hull City had made an enquiry, telling the Lancashire telegraph: “Hull City have shown interest, there isn’t any official bids I’m led to believe at this moment in time, but I’m also led to believe other clubs are interested.
“At this moment he’s still a Blackburn Rovers player.”
Hull are reportedly prepared to pay £4.5 million for the forward, as strikers Nikica Jelavic and Abel Hernandez both came off injured against Leicester last weekend and could be out for up to eight weeks.
Blackburn are facing a fight to keep their star players this January, with interest from Derby County in winger Ben Marshall, who has been fantastic for Rovers this season and Gestede’s strike partner Jordan Rhodes, who is subject of interest from Queens Park Rangers and Southampton.
After a relatively good first half of the season, Blackburn are now tenth, and would ideally like to make a push for the play offs in the second half of the season, having accumulated 35 points this term.
