Ipswich Town midfielder, Andre Dozzell has emerged as a transfer target for a number of Premier League clubs according to print edition of The Mirror (January 8th, page 49).

Bournemouth, Brighton and Crystal Palace have all reportedly registered their interest in signing the youngster, who has struggled for game time in the last couple of seasons.

The 19-year-old has made just four starts this season on his return to the Ipswich side, after being ruled out for all but 45 minutes of their league campaign through injury.

This isn't the first we have heard of Premier League sides being interested in striking a deal for Dozzell, as it was previously reported by The Mirror.

Dozzell is still in the early stages of his recovery following a lengthy injury lay off, and the Tractor Boys are likely to want to keep hold of their promising midfielder.

The midfielder is contracted until the summer of 2020, but Ipswich will be keen to have his long-term future resolved at the earliest of opportunities to avoid his price tag dropping any lower.

The Verdict:

Ipswich will need to do everything they can to hold on to Dozzell.

He might not have featured as much as he would have liked to this season, but given his injury lay off in the previous season, it's understandable.

If they can get him fit, and tie him down to a new contract to deter any interest from top flight clubs, then he can play a starring role in an unlikely survival bid for Paul Lambert's side this season.
