Crystal Palace have launched an ambitious £5m raid on arch rivals Brighton and Hove Albion for star defender Lewis Dunk, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 24-year old centre-back has been strongly linked with a move away from the Amex Stadium after a thoroughly impressive season for the Seagulls, during which they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League.
West Bromwich Albion and Newcastle United have been touted as potential landing spots, though it is the Eagles who are said to have opened fire first.
Due to the strained relationship between the two clubs, this deal is likely to be a huge controversial one should it ultimately go through.
Still, he is widely regarded as amongst the finest left-sided central defenders playing in the second tier and could feasibly represent a natural heir to Damien Delaney.
Will Brighton be able to keep a hold of Dunk this summer?
