According to The Athletic, Crystal Palace are confident of signing West Bromwich Albion defender Nathan Ferguson on a free once his contract has expired with the Baggies in the summer.

It's been a memorable season for obvious reasons and it remains to be seen how it's going to be finished, though the hope will be for many that it is.

What the extended campaign means for the transfer window, too, is that it's likely to be pushed back and it also remains to be seen just how clubs go about keeping players - like Ferguson - past their current contract deadline if the season extends past that period.

The likelihood is that players will remain at their current clubs until things are wrapped up, though, but perhaps Ferguson won't be around for much longer after that.

Palace are evidently keen on bringing him to south London and it remains to be seen if they are successful.

Can you name these Albion signings?

The Verdict

The Ferguson situation appears to be pointing to an exit from the club some time this summer.

He's a good young player but you'd think he'd have signed a deal by now if he wanted to stay with the club.

There's still time for that to change, but it appears as though Palace are confident of getting their man.
