Brentford attacker Ollie Watkins is wanted by Crystal Palace this summer, according to The Sun.

Crystal Palace have joined Bournemouth in the race for Watkins, who is rated at £8m by Brentford.

Roy Hodgson is ready to make a move for the 22-year-old, who plays as a winger and he can also play up front too.

Crystal Palace have lost Bakary Sako this summer and Andros Townsend could leave so they have lined up West Ham United wide man Michail Antonio as a potential new addition at Selhurst Park.

Watkins has been identified as another top target after another impressive season.

After scoring 26 goals in 78 games for Exeter City, the youngster made the step up to the Championship with no problems, netting 11 times in 46 games for the Bees.

The Eagles are ready to offer Sullay Kaikai as a makeweight in the deal.

The 22-year-old spent part of the 2016/17 season with Brentford, impressing the fans with his displays and netting three times in 18 games.

The Verdict

If Brentford could get £8m and Kaikai, then they should take this deal.

Although Watkins is a top young talent, they would have made a very nice profit on him and drafted in his replacement already.

Kaikai was impressive at Griffin Park before and could be a top signing looking forward.
