Crystal Palace left-back Christian Scales has been linked with a move to Sky Bet League Two outfit Crawley Town, reports the Croydon Advertiser.
Scales, who is in the Crystal Palace academy, has been involved with Alan Pardew’s first team during pre-season and is regarded as a big prospect by the Eagles.
The 18-year-old played for the Premier League club in the Cape Town cup as well as recent pre-season friendlies against Bromley and Dagenham & Redbridge.
The Croydon Advertiser understands that Crawley scouts attended both of these local friendlies and were impressed with what they saw.
Signing Scales would be a very good addition for Mark Yates who is looking to rebuild a squad capable of promotion back to League One.
Scales’ short time spent with the first team will have helped the 18-year-old gain some valuable experience and this can only benefit Crawley Town, as they aim for an immediate return to the third tier of English football.
Crawley Town fans… Would you be happy with the signing of Scales? Can he help you achieve your goals this season? Can Mark Yates guide you back to League One at the first time of asking? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
