Crystal Palace manger, Alan Pardew, has rubbished rumours that Hull City are looking to take Fraizer Campbell on loan.
Pardew has no intention of sending the striker out on loan; capped once by England, it has been speculated that Campbell is a loan target of several Sky Bet Championship clubs.
Speaking about supposed interest from Hull City, Pardew said to the Surrey Mirror: “We have not had contact from Hull over Fraizer, it was probably media-generated transfer news, but I think he’s very important for us.”
He continued: “We have already lost Glenn Murray to Bournemouth. Fraizer has a good attitude and I like him, he’s done well for me whenever I’ve played him.”
Campbell spent a season on loan at Hull City during the 2007/08 season, when he was on the books at Manchester United, and found the net 15 times for the Tigers, helping them to achieve promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history.
The 28-year-old scored for Palace in their 4-1 win over Charlton Athletic in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night, and may have increased his chances of first-team football in the coming weeks, putting an end to any loan speculation.
