Ollie Watkins has no reason to leave Brentford, according to manager Thomas Frank.

The inform striker netted his 9th and 10th goals of the season in the victory over QPR on Monday night, and that meant that he's already scored the same amount managed in each of the previous two campaigns.

He's been a vital player to this Brentford side, and his promising development and performances have led to on-going speculation about the 23-year-old and a potential move to the Premier League.

The two clubs that are reportedly interested in the striker are Southampton and Crystal Palace, but Frank has expressed that he's not worried about him leaving due to how much he is enjoying his football at Brentford.

When asked on whether he feared Watkins may leave, Frank said: “No. Why? He is enjoying it here.

"I can only praise him for his work ethic – look how hard he works throughout the game.

“That’s a massive, big thing for us. We were pressing high constantly in the second half – chasing everything and keep on pushing up. His focus is on developing and wanting to get better.”

The Verdict

Watkins has been simply sensational so far this season, and it's no wonder that Frank keeps getting asked his future at the club.

If you're one of the leading goal scorers in the Championship then you're always going to be touted to be a signing for a Premier League side. The development that he's shown this season has been fantastic and in the future, I think he'll get his shot at top division football.

He has to keep grounded and keep doing what he is doing, if he does then the Bees will have a big fight on their hands to keep the forward.
