It was yet another disappointing weekend for Nottingham Forest, whose hopes of a play-off finish come the end of the season look to be dead and buried.
The Reds faced a trip to Rotherham United on Saturday afternoon, knowing that they would have to pick up back-to-back wins for only the second time this season if they were to keep putting pressure on the teams above them.
But the East Midlands side’s woes continued at the weekend, with goals from Michael Smith and Michael Ihiekwe securing an invaluable win for the relegation-threatened Millers.
Martin O’Neill continued to divided opinions amongst the City Ground faithful – with the club now five points off the play-off spots, plenty of fans have ran out of patience with the Irishman who they consider as a club legend.
Record signing Joao Carvalho was once again left out of the starting XI by O’Neill, with the £13.2million playmaker coming on with just 15 minutes to play as Forest looked to get back into the game.
Here, we take a look at fans’ reactions to the midfielder’s latest omission from the side…
Surely you play all your best players at this time of the season? Dip in form won't be every game. They're first choice for a reason. You would expect more good than bad #nffc Darikwa Robinson Yacob and Carvalho should have started yesterday. Most of you will guess who for.

Trying to give MON the benefit of the doubt. With a pre-season we may have more of an identity. Would like to see the team built around Worrall, Yates, Cash, Lolley, Carvalho, Walker, Appiah. #NFFC

The fact Carvalho – our most naturally creative player since Reid – finds out ways to tie his laces on the bench while Ben Watson plays is testament to that #nffc

Absolutely no way in hell should Martin O’Neill be trusted to manage us next season. He’ll have Carvalho straight out the door and replace him with Glenn Whelan. Never wanted him in the first place #nffc

people saying we don’t have the players we do
Leeds sheff utd don’t have the best squad, but they know there roles have clarity and bought into the vision
That’s down to the manager,he’s refusing to play carvalho not getting the best out the rest, and the football is dire, #nffc

Forget the playoffs Martin, I love listening to you and find your honesty at times refreshing. Although I can no longer defend clueless team selections and formations. To leave Carvalho out is criminal. We need a better manager who understands this league next season. #NFFC

If Lolley, Grabban or Carvalho receive big money offers, you wouldn’t blame them for wanting to move on under this regime. Unfortunately for me, this is why the manager needs to go now #NFFC

Dreadful. Season ends with a whimper. Karanka walking was one thing, replacing him with O'Neill was a complete catastrophe. Carvalho and Robinson starting on bench, arguably our two best players under Karanka. Utterly pathetic! #NFFC

Can’t trust a manger who plays 442 and leaves carvalho on the bench. Tells me everything I need to know how about how’s he’s going to set up. Hoooooooooof #NFFC

Had enough, so many games with no creativity and carvalho is still only getting 15 minutes #NFFC
