Alan Tate could be in line for a permanent move to Crewe Alexandra after the club’s boss Steve Davis confirmed his interest in the central defender.
The experienced Tate spent much of last season on loan with the Railwaymen and impressed with his calm and composed style of defending.
Any move that takes place this summer would be on a more permanent basis with the player having now been released from his contract at the Liberty Stadium.
The South Wales Evening Post are suggesting that a move is on the cards and that the transfer could be completed in the next couple of days.
Davis took time to speak to reporters at a press conference on Thursday evening about his pending arrival.
“I think he wants to come here and we will see where we lie with money once we have the priorities sorted out.”
Tate played 257 games for the Swans in an association which spanned 11-years.
