Birmingham City travel to take on unlikely Championship high-flyers Charlton Athletic this weekend in what will be a tough test for Pep Clotet's men.

The Spaniard has enjoyed a strong start as Blues boss, with the team collecting ten points from their opening six games. As a result, they are sitting just outside the play-offs on goal difference.

Despite that, there is some concern about how the side have played, with Blues failing to convince even though they are picking up results.

Therefore, Clotet is yet to settle on his best team and he has regularly made changes so far in the campaign and we expect a few more tweaks at The Valley. Here we look at the XI we expect him to go with...

Having said that, Blues do have a settled defensive unit when everyone is fit and available and they are all ready to feature tomorrow.

Lee Camp will continue in goal, with Maxime Colin and Kristian Pedersen reliable options at full-back. Harlee Dean and Marc Roberts are sure to start in the heart of the defence.

Going forward has been more of a problem though. Ivan Sunjic was considered a coup for Blues in the summer and he has shown flashes of his undoubted talent, so he is one of the first names on the teamsheet for Clotet and he will look to dictate play for the visitors.

Even though he isn't appreciate by some supporters, David Davis has started in every league game this season and it's hard to see that changing tomorrow, with his energy and drive needed against a Charlton side who will play at a high tempo.

The new boss has switched between one and two up front but Blues will look to control more of the play against the Londoners which could see him go with more in midfield.

That means the creative Dan Crowley should be given a start in the number ten role and he will have a big responsibility to help create chances.

Out wide, the returning Jacques Maghoma gives the team pace and a direct option, whilst Fran Villalba offers a different threat with his ability to cut inside and to feed passes, providing the team with a nice balance in the final third.

Alvaro Gimenez may feel harshly treated to be left out, but Lukas Jutkiewicz is the main man up top and if one striker plays then it has to be the 30-year-old, who has three goals in six games this season.

He will need to continue that form against Lee Bowyer's side if Blues are to come away with anything after successive heavy away defeats against Nottingham Forest and Swansea.
