Birmingham City have a lot to do if they're going to become a force in the Championship this season.

Their scope for signing new players is limited as the Financial Fair Play restrictions continue to bite hard.

They've recently lost midfielder Cheikh Ndoye and have so far been unable to bring in any new faces.

They're restricted of course, they can't overspend even in the loan market and any fresh players will be on a budget. They won't be shopping in the sort of market that requires loan fees and big salaries covering.

Instead, it is outcasts, flops and failures they'll be looking to bring back to life.

Here, FLW look at two Premier League outcasts they might be able to tempt to St Andrews

Tomlin isn't likely to be in Cardiff City's plans this season and he knows the Championship well.

He's not an inspiring choice, but Birmingham won't get the cream of Premier League cast offs. A loan move for Tomlin would at least add experience to the side.

Dasilva has attracted attention already this summer and he could be a player that impacts at St Andrews.

The Arsenal youngster seemingly has no route to the Emirates first team, so a spell in the second tier makes sense. He could add value to that depleted midfield too.
