Crawley Town boss John Gregory has denied newspaper speculation linking Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Leon Clarke with a return to the Broadfield Stadium, reports the Crawley Observer

Clarke scored one goal in three appearances whilst on loan from Charlton Athletic during the 2011/12 season and rumours spread that Gregory was interested in bringing him back to Crawley.

The former Aston Villa boss told the Observer:

“I have had no conversations with Leon or anyone else from Wolves. I wish it was true but they paid £750,000 for him and he is earning around £10,000 per week so I don’t think it will happen!”

Clarke joined Wolves in January from Coventry City but has scored just once in 14 games, nine of those were appearances from the substitute bench.

The Red Devils has also announced home pre-season friendlies against Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion on 19 June and July 23 respectively.
