Since leaving Nottingham Forest in the summer, Liam Bridcutt has played an integral role in helping Bolton Wanderers get their points tally into positive figures in the Sky Bet League One table.

After a turbulent summer, the Trotters started the season off with minus 12 points, but they have made real strides under Keith Hill and sit 12 points adrift of safety with three games in hand.

Bridcutt returned to the side at the weekend after a short injury lay-off, and the 30-year-old has been an influential figure in Bolton's revival this term.

His departure split Forest fans down the middle in the summer - the vast majority expected it to happen, given how much he fell out of favour under Aitor Karanka last term.

But there were some who thought that Bridcutt should have been given more of a chance on Trentside, and many feel that he hardly put a foot wrong during his time with the Reds.

On Facebook, Forest fans have been debating whether they would bring the Scot back to the club in the January transfer window...

Kelvin Titch Roddis: "Yes he’s never been given a chance for Forest since his arrival."

Michael Doherty: "I’m pretty sure I’d look impressive playing for Bolton!!"

Sean Dethick: "I've always rated him so why not??"

Christopher Hibbert: "Some people don’t like him but he’s looked solid whenever I’ve seen him. Good link between defence and midfield"

Justin Hayes: "One good tackle per game the rest poorly timed. Didn't see anything that would suggest he's good enough for a team aiming top 6 or above. Sell & make room for more quality with the wages etc"

Shane Farren: "Always rated the guy but seems to fall under the radar with managers since he's been here!!"

Wayne Hewes: "Defo never given a chance cracking player"
