It has been tough to support Coventry City since the turn of the century but things are still - somehow - getting worse.

This season it looks as if all hope is lost, with stars sold in the summer and just inexperienced kids brought in to replace them.

Both on and off the field, things are a shambles at Coventry.

With the Sky Blues hanging precariously just above the relegation zone, with no manager to be appointed for the foreseeable future, fans must be wondering if there is a light at the end of this very, very long dark tunnel.

Hedge fund owners SISU are still refusing to put their hand in their pockets and bankroll any potential business for Coventry in January so it might be a case of replacing loans with loans again.

Coventry have traditionally looked at their Midlands counterparts for any bargains floating about and here are four players who could make the trip from the East to West Midlands to join Coventry on loan in January.

Farrend Rawson

Towering centre half Farrend Rawson could be a replacement for the recently retired Sky Blues' captain Sam Ricketts.

The 20-year-old has experience of League One and Championship football before with two spells at Rotherham and he is likely to displace the erratic Jordan Turnbull in defence if he comes in.

Faiq Bolkiah

Faiq Bolkiah is heralded as one of the finest talents in Leicester's academy with the Brunei international winger able to unlock defences with mazy runs.

The 18-year-old could do with some lower league experience though so that he gets to grips with senior football in England and a spell at relatively local Coventry could do the trick.

Mason Bennett

Derby youngster Mason Bennett would be perfect in Coventry's front three system and his ability to play on the wing would allow Marvin Sordell to move to the middle.

The 20-year-old already has plenty of experience after making his debut aged 15 and the England under-19 international had an impressive stint at Burton Albion in League One last year.

Matty Fryatt

Experienced forward Matty Fryatt is likely to leave Nottingham Forest in January as he has not played a single game this season.

The 30-year-old target man would be exactly what Coventry need up front to replace young and raw duo Dan Agyei and Andre Wright, who have struggled to play that physical role up top.
