Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres has won the FLW Fans’ Player of the Month award for September in the Championship.
The Swedish striker secured 57% of the fan vote, beating off stern competition from Kyle Bartley, Jordan Zemura, Morgan Gibbs-White, Ben Brereton Diaz and Aleksander Mitrovic.
Gyokeres has enjoyed a sensational start to the season with the Sky Blues following his permanent switch from Brighton in the summer, and recorded five goals and one assist during the month of September.
The forward has become a key cog in Mark Robins’ Sky Blues side as they compete within the higher echelons of the Sky Bet Championship table, with them currently sat in third position.
Coventry City currently possess the best home record in the second tier and have won every single game they have played at the Coventry Building Society Arena, a welcome sight given the hardships the Midlands outfit have had to go through in recent years with regards to their home stadium.
Gyokeres’ impressive form has seen him earn himself a Sweden national team call-up, something that is thoroughly deserved after a stellar September in particular.
