Coventry City’s latest Championship campaign will begin with an away trip to newly promoted Sunderland.

The season will begin in the final week of July, with the Sky Blues’ kicking off the 2022-23 term on the 31st.

Mark Robins will be hoping his side can sustain a promotion push, having fallen away by the end of the previous campaign.

Coventry finished 12th in the previous season, 11 points short of a play-off place.

Bridging that gap will be the target for the team over the next 12 months and will be seen as a massive sign of progress.

The team’s final game will come against Middlesbrough, which the prospect of will now have fans dreaming about the possibilities.

The season will pause following Round 16 on November 12 due to the winter World Cup in Qatar.

Play will resume on December 10, with games against QPR and Reading taking up those two dates respectively.

The season ends on the first weekend of May 2023.
