Sky Bet League One side Coventry City have been linked with a move for Ipswich Town midfielder Jonathan Douglas, according to the Coventry Telegraph.
Douglas, 35, has been a prominent member of Mick McCarthy’s squad in the Championship with 55 appearances since arriving at Portman Road from Griffin Park in the summer of 2015.
The Sky Blues fear they may lose young star Ben Stevenson before the transfer window shuts, with the midfielder strongly rumoured to be on his way to Brentford, and view Douglas as a potential replacement.
Jonathan Douglas has also spent time in his career at Leeds United and Blackburn Rovers, and was called up to the Republic of Ireland national team between 2004-2007 where he received eight caps.
Ipswich Town fans have turned against the midfielder, along with the manager, as the club have slumped down the table into 14th, ten points adrift of the play-offs.
Coventry City will be looking to strength their squad ahead of a relegation survival fight in League One.
