Coventry City are gunning for four consecutive home wins on Wednesday evening when they welcome Mick McCarthy’s Cardiff City.
Both sides were victorious at the weekend with Cardiff’s Rubin Colwill’s double condeming Nottingham Forest to a fifth defeat in six on Sunday. With that said, the Bluebirds have one day fewer to prepare for the trip to the CBS Arena possibly giving Mark Robins’ men the upper hand.
Two of the Championship’s best number nines in Viktor Gyokeres and Kieffer Moore will be in action on Wednesday evening with the former impressing in the opening knockings of the campaign, having made his move from Brighton and Hove Albion to Coventry permanent this summer.
The Sky Blues come into the match as favourites, which demonstrates how far they have come already this season, fighting relegation for large periods of 2020/21 while Cardiff flirted with the play-off places.
Here, we have taken a look at some of the key information ahead of Wednesday evening’s encounter…
Kieffer Moore was introduced from the bench at the weekend after a busy international break with Wales but is expected to be ready in time to face Coventry. Lee Tomlin and Isaac Vassell are still out and it seems likely that Joe Ralls, Ryan Giles and Leandro Bacuna will miss out with shorter term knocks.
Tyler Walker and Liam Kelly are sidelined for the hosts but outside of those two Robins has a full compliment to pick from.
It will be interesting to see how both managers rest and rotate after the weekend’s action.
Where can you stream the game?
The match is available on the red button on Sky Sports Football, Sky channel 403. It is also available to purchase for £10 on Cardiff City TV and the Sky Blues’ iFollow service.
