Coventry City will be looking to make a positive start to the 2021/22 Championship campaign, which is set to get underway in under a month’s time.
The Sky Blues thrashed Millwall 6-1 on the final day of last year’s campaign, and the club’s supporters will be eager to see their side build on such an impressive ending to last season.
Mark Robins’ side finished 16th in the Championship table that season, and will be hoping they can challenge higher up the second tier standings next term.
Coventry are set to take on Nottingham Forest in their first league match of the upcoming campaign, in what is likely to be a closely-fought battle between the two teams.
Robins could be looking to add to his squad in the near future though, with players already being linked with moves to the Ricoh Arena.
We take a look at the latest transfer news involving Coventry City, as they prepare for the 2021/22 season.
Coventry City are rumoured to be closing in on a deal to sign Bright Enobakhare on a permanent deal, with the former Wolves man being a free-agent at this moment in time.
Football Insider claim that Enobakhare is in advanced talks to re-sign for the Sky Blues, having spent a short-term spell with Indian side East Bengal last term.
Enobakhare made 16 appearances for Coventry City in his loan spell with the club, and will be hoping he can make a positive impact with the Sky Blues if he signs permanently for them.
Coventry City have confirmed that they have completed a deal to sign Viktor Gyökeres on a three-year contract from Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.
Gyökeres spent part of the 2020/21 campaign on loan with the Sky Blues, and evidently made a good impression on Mark Robins, who has made the move to sign him on a permanent basis.
Gyökeres netted three goals in 19 appearances for Coventry last term, and will be hoping he can make a positive start to life with the Sky Blues permanently.
