Coventry City manager Mark Robins has wasted no time in bringing in some excellent signings in preparation for the Sky Blues’ 2017/18 League Two campaign.
The Midlands club have already announced the shrewd signings of Portsmouth’s Michael Doyle, Sheffield United’s Marc McNulty, and Rochdale's Peter Vincenti, who are all fantastic acquisitions at League Two level. Victory at Wembley in the Checkatrade Trophy final over Oxford United last term shows that City didn’t go out of League One without a fight, despite being in absolute turmoil off the pitch. It is making up to be a very promising season for the Sky Blues, who endured a dismal time in League One last season, finishing 23rd in the league and conceding a staggering 68 goals in last season, which was ultimately their biggest downfall. Therefore, one player who Robins should definitely look to land this summer in order to shore up their defence is Wycombe Wanderers £255,000-rated defender Aaron Pierre (as per Transfermarkt).
The commanding centre half has been influential at the back for the Chairboys ever since joining from Brentford in 2014, and has gone on to make 121 appearances for Gareth Ainsworth's men.

As Wycombe failed to clinch a promotion spot in League Two last term, as well as an alleged bust-up with supporters, the 24-year-old's future at Adams Park looks increasingly likely to be over after rejecting a second contract extension with the club.

Wanderers rejected a bid from an unnamed club for the defender on last summer, with the Sky Blues amongst the illustrious names of the likes of Leeds United and Birmingham City linked with the Grenadian's signature.

Pierre, who stands at 6-foot-1, would be yet another tremendous addition for Robins, and would shore up City's defence as they prepare for life in England's fourth tier.
