Coventry City have a real chance of winning promotion via the play-offs in League Two this season despite a recent wobble in form.

The Sky Blues, under the guidance of Mark Robins, currently sit sixth and achieving a play-off place is in their own hands.

But Coventry fans will warn against complacency at this stage of the season - the West Midlands outfit have not finished in the top six of any division since the late 1960s.

With promotion looking like it could be a possibility this season, Coventry might start thinking ahead to life back in League One.

If they do win promotion, the squad will need to be bolstered to ensure that they do not suffer relegation back to the fourth tier again.

For the last three or four matches of the season, Coventry need to send scouts out to look at possible targets in competitive action.

Here are four they should be considering.

Coventry are currently struggling with their attacking midfield options as Jodi Jones and Tony Andreu are out with long term injuries and recent signing Carl Baker is not yet at full fitness.

If Coventry snapped up Jorge Grant in the summer, then they would have terrific strength in depth in the attacking midfield department and would not be forced to play players like Tom Bayliss out of position in the wide areas.

The 23-year-old is on loan at Notts County from Nottingham Forest and he has struck 15 goals and added six assists in League Two this season.

If Notts County fail to win promotion, then Coventry should look to snap Grant up as his future at Nottingham Forest looks uncertain.

Mohamed Eisa is enjoying a prolific season for Cheltenham Town and he could be tempted to leave the club to join Coventry if the Sky Blues go up.

The 23-year-old worked his way up through non-league and has found his feet in League Two this season as his tally of 20 league goals earned him a nomination for League Two Player of the Year.

The Sudan-born forward knows where the net is and would provide great competition for places with Marc McNulty, Maxime Biamou and Jordan Ponticelli next season.

Billy Kee is another player who has enjoyed a prolific season in League Two.

The 27-year-old has struck an unrivalled 22 league goals and added eight assists, earning him the League Two Player of the Season award.

Although Accrington are likely to be a League One club next season, Coventry would be able to offer him higher wages if they go up and this could turn his head.

If Coventry fancy a bit more of a risk, then they should swoop for Leyton Orient star Macauley Bonne.

The 22-year-old is one of the top scorers in the National League, having netted 20 times in 39 starts for the O's despite being in a relegation battle for the whole season.

While Leyton Orient fans will tell you that he should be even more prolific, the Zimbabwe international clearly knows how to get into good positions and find the net and he will only improve more and more at a higher level.
