Former Coventry City keeper Steve Ogrizovic believes that Callum O'Hare has been the club's best player this season.

Mark Robins' side currently lead the way in League One, boasting a seven-point lead in the race for automatic promotion and they have a game in hand over their rivals.

Therefore, they are in a fantastic position as they look to return to the Championship and there have been several standout performers for the Sky Blues.

And, speaking to Coventry Live, Ogrizovic explained why he thinks the on-loan Aston Villa man has been the key figure behind the success the team have enjoyed this season.

"I have read that a few people have put Liam Walsh and Fankaty Dabo as their player of the year but for me, personally, I’d actually probably go with Callum O’Hare. I just love the guy. I think he turns games. Every time he goes on he’s exciting.

"You always expect something to happen. He scores goals and makes lots of goals. He’s just an exciting talent and, for me, there have been a lot of good performances from him."

The verdict

This is somewhat surprising as there have been plenty of excellent individuals in the Coventry team this season that some would have put above O'Hare.

That's not to say the youngster hasn't been quality but it just highlights how impressive the team have been.

The loan has worked out for all parties and Ogrizovic, like every Sky Blues fan, has enjoyed watching the attacking midfielder play this season.
