Notts County are set to pull out of the race to sign Crawley Town striker Izale McLeod after having a second bid rejected, according to the Nottingham Post.
Crawley are reported to have rejected a bid of £125,000 for the 30-year-old striker, who netted 21 times last season.
Notts chairman Ray Trew revealed that the club have also had an initial offer of £100,000 turned down by the Reds last weekend.
McLeod is being heavily linked with a move away from Broadfields Stadium after he did not appear in the team photo this week.
The likes of Coventry City, Barnsley and Millwall are also interested in signing the former England under-21 striker, who has played for 11 different clubs during his career.
Notts are looking to gain an instant return to League One following their relegation last season, and have already made their intentions clear by bringing in Jon Stead following his release from Huddersfield Town.
McLeod comes with an abundance of Football League experience and would be a perfect signing for near enough any club in Sky Bet League One, his pace and power make him a major problem for opposition defences.
