The off-the-field issues currently surrounding Bolton Wanderers and Bury have taken centre stage in the early stages of the new season.

Bolton have been fielding a number of younger players in their first few games of the League One season, and have struggled to adapt to life back in the third tier.

Bury haven't played a single game so far this season, and supporters have every reason to be concerned about their future at this moment in time.

In a pre-match interview ahead of their game against Gillingham, Coventry City manager, Mark Robins sympathises with both clubs who are troubled with off-the-field problems.

"It’s sad the situation at Bury. It’s sad for everybody involved and at Bolton Wanderers, you just hope it all gets sorted."

Bury in particular are in a rush to resolve their issues, and they have until the end of Friday to prove that they can move forward. Otherwise they are facing expulsion from the Football League, in a worrying development for everyone associated with the club.

Bolton's game against Doncaster Rovers has been postponed over the club's concern that their younger players will struggle with the intense League One schedule.

Coventry will be hoping to build on some impressive performances this season when they take on Gillingham, as Mark Robins' side look to maintain their unbeaten start to this year's league campaign.

The Verdict:

Football supporters across England have got their fingers crossed for the two clubs.

It's a shocking situation to be in, and it's the worst case scenario for any of the club's supporters, who will be hoping that their clubs can stay afloat.

I just hope a positive outcome can come out of this, especially with Bury, who could be expelled from the Football League by the end of today.
