Coventry City's £600,000 bid for Wolves forward Bright Enobakhare is still under consideration, as reported by Coventry Live.

It's believed they tabled a bid for the forward recently which as yet hasn't been rejected by the Molineux outfit. The Nigerian forward is currently entering the final year of his contract and could be set for a move to the Sky Blues.

He moved to England aged 15 and after trials earned a spot in the Wolverhampton Wanderers youth set up. He's gone on to make 49 appearances for Wolves, scoring three times, but didn't feature at all after their promotion to the Premier League.

He's spent time on loan in the SPFL with Kilmarnock, where he made six appearances without a goal. A loan move to Coventry followed and he thrived with regular football.

He scored six times in 18 matches as they pushed on towards the top six, hunting an unlikely play-off spot. They just missed out but it's believed Mark Robins sees the youngster as a key element of any future drive up the table.

The report suggests the admiration is mutual with Enobakhare dropping social media hints about a possible return to the club.

The Verdict

This could be a big capture for Coventry if they can pull it off. £600,000 isn't a small amount of money in League One and any signing of that magnitude would signal the Sky Blues intent this coming season.

At 21-years-old he's got potential to develop as well, something that will doubtless be factored into any possible move. They wouldn't spend a big sum on a player with no resale value, it wouldn't make sense.

What he can earn them in the future is surely secondary to what he can achieve in the short term. Coventry City fans were once used to top-flight football and even a chance to appear in the second tier would be warmly welcomed.
