Sky Bet League One side Coventry City have agreed to sign Doncaster Rovers goalkeeper Marko Marosi, the club have now confirmed.

The 25-year-old will officially sign for the Sky Blues at the start of July, when his current deal at the Keepmoat Stadium expires at the end of June.

In the aftermath of Doncaster's play-off semi-final loss to Charlton Athletic, manager Grant McCann revealed that Marosi would be leaving, putting an end to a five-year stay with the club.

The Slovakian shot-stopper signed for Donny from Wigan in 2014, and went on to make 95 appearances in all competitions for the Yorkshire outfit.

But now, Mark Robins' Coventry City have agreed to sign Marosi from Doncaster on a free transfer, as they look to bolster their options in between the sticks.

The Sky Blues recently let go of regular shot-stopper Lee Burge upon the expiry of his contract at the Ricoh Arena, but have now found a like-for-like replacement in Marosi.

City have already completed the signing of Burton Albion defender Kyle McFadzean on a free transfer, as Robins looks to bring players through the doors early on in the window.

City will be looking to go one step further than last season next term, by finishing in the play-offs after narrowly missing out this time around.

The Verdict

I think this will prove to be a shrewd bit of business from Mark Robins and Coventry City.

Marosi is a very good goalkeeper at League One level, and on a free transfer, it has cost them next to nothing to replace Burge.

Robins wants to get his business done early, and he definitely isn't messing about.
