Coventry City and Birmingham City are battling to sign Norwich City winger Danel Sinani, as per a report from Football Insider

The 25-year-old, who is set to see his contract expire in the summer, is the subject of enquiries from the Midlands duo ahead of the closure of the latest transfer window.

The Luxembourg international, who has been capped 50 times at senior level for his nation, has featured 16 times in the league for the Canaries this season, with seven of these appearances coming in the form of starts.

Spending last season out on loan at Huddersfield Town, the winger netted six times and provided four assists in 39 league appearances, proving to be an important part of Carlos Corberan's promotion bid at the John Smith's Stadium.

It remains to be seen if Norwich will look to sanction Sinani's departure this month, especially after Todd Cantwell's move to Rangers going through.

The verdict

Sinani has proven that he can make an impact at Championship level and it will be interesting to see Norwich's stance now that interest in the winger has surfaced.

It would appear that the Sky Blues are looking to bolster their supply network for Viktor Gyokeres and Sinani could be a perfect match for Mark Robins.

As for John Eustace's Birmingham, they have used the loan market very effectively this season and the 25-year-old could go on and strengthen that claim,

A player that will certainly help drive competition and subsequently performance levels at both these clubs, it will be an intriguing situation to follow over the next few days.
