Sheffield Wednesday recorded a much needed victory last night as they defeated Millwall 2-1 at Hillsborough.

An Adam Reach goal after three minutes put the Owls on the front-foot from the off, though their lead didn't last long as Tom Elliott turned in Fred Onyedinma's effort after 13 minutes.

Carlos Carvalhal made the big decision to drop Steven Fletcher and hand Jordan Rhodes a start, and it proved effective as the Wednesday striker scored in the 43rd minute.

The result means Wednesday sit in 14th ahead of this weekend's fixtures, having won two of their last six games.

Fans on social media seemed delighted to see Jordan Rhodes notch a goal for the club, after being overlooked by Carlos Carvalhal for so long this season.

It's uncertain whether Carvalhal will start him again on the weekend, but he's done nothing wrong last night.
