Barnsley have revealed that Toby Sibbick will return to Oakwell in the New Year.
The defender has made 18 senior appearances for Barnsley and did feature regularly under Daniel Stendel.
However, he’s also had loan spells away from Oakwell with Hearts and, most recently, Oostende.
Quiz: Have any of these 22 players ever been in Barnsley’s academy?
That spell with the latter has come to an end, though, with Barnsley confirming that they will welcome the 21-year-old back to Oakwell in the New Year after he failed to play at all of Oostende.
Whilst Sibbick was fairly unimpressive during his previous stint in the first-team at Oakwell, there are a fair few fans that are happy to see him return to work under Valerian Ismael.
Ismael has turned things around superbly at Oakwell, with Barnsley looking up the table ahead of 2021, which is a welcome change for them in the Championship.
Here, we dive into the positive reaction that’s followed this news on Sibbick…
Don’t forget he came into a very inexperienced team at time where many of those young players we got struggled at time . And you look at how they have come on . Anderson for one . Toby can do same with this manager

Looked promising at Hearts, think wouldve made a difference if wasn't unlucky with injuries and illnesses. Gladly have him for another spell.

I’ve one mate. You just need time that’s all. Look at victor, he’s doing well now, but it’s taken time. That’s all you need. I for one am excited. There’s a player in there somewhere
