Queens Park Rangers have had another poor season in the Sky Bet Championship, and Ian Holloway’s side have looked a long way off competing for a place in the top six.
Miles behind their west London rivals, Fulham and Brentford, things are not looking good for the R’s.
Former Blackpool manager, Holloway, has a lot of work to do over the summer if he is to turn the fortunes of his side around, and that includes scouring the transfer market for potential stars to improve his beleaguered squad.
There are a number of Premier League players heading into the final few months of their contracts, and QPR may look to the free transfer market to secure additions to their team.
Holloway will need to make gambles over the summer in an attempt to inject life into his team, and one player with massive potential, that so far he has failed to live up to, may find is feet in The Championship with Rangers.
That player is Arsenal striker, Yaya Sanogo.
Many in English football have written Sanogo off, but the player still has something to offer.
Prolific in France during his spell with Auxerre, and deadly in front of goal in various age groups of the French national team, Sanogo has the ability to find the back of the net.
The striker was never going to consistently break into the first team at Arsenal with such an array of talent in front of him, and loan spells can prove difficult for some players due to the quickness in which they must find their feet.
A settled home in west London may prove the perfect hunting grounds for the 24 year old, and Holloway would have nothing to lose by taking a punt on the soon to be free transfer.
There is no reason why Sanogo cannot rediscover the potential that persuaded the Gunners to give him a chance in 2013, and Loftus Road may be the venue that brings the best out of the player.
Take a gamble, Ian. You’ve more to gain than lose from this move.
