Their place in the division is secure, and their managerial saviour having signed a one-year contract with the club, Birmingham City fans are in a jubilant mood.

A final day victory at Bristol City, masterminded by then interim coach, Harry Redknapp, saw the Blues maintain their Sky Bet Championship status, and those associated with the second city club will hope for a much less nervy finish next season.

Redknapp has been given a one year contract by Birmingham’s chairman, Tony Xia, and the Chinese businessman will harbour high ambitions for a top half finish at the very least next season.

As is the case when Redknapp links up with any new club, the odds of reuniting with his former favourites are slashed by every bookmaker in the country.

Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar were instantly touted as possible signings, having worked with the boss at clubs including Tottenham and Portsmouth.

Kranjcar is a realistic target, but Crouch may prove unattainable due to a number of complications, including wage demands and a desire to play at the lower level.

A big target man like Crouch has often been a favourite ploy of Redknapp’s, and the wily manager may not have to look too far to land his latest lumbering, offensive giant.

Libor Kozak linked up with cross city rivals, Aston Villa, in 2013, but struggled to find his feet with the former Premier League side.

Set to be released at the end of his contract, Kozak is a free agent searching for a new club.

Still only 27-years-old, Kozak has a lot to offer, and his 8 international caps suggest the player certainly has a future somewhere.

Birmingham and Harry Redknapp could be the answer to Kozak’s prayers, as after settling in the Birmingham area over the past 4 years, a stay in the city would surely be ideal.

Redknapp has often showed his managerial ability to draw the best from players in the past, with the prime example being his exploits with Portsmouth, in which he lifted an FA Cup and often got the club punching above their weight in the top flight.

Kozak could be a man who rediscovers his form under the boss, and a move to St Andrews could be on the cards this summer.

If Redknapp does begin to show an interest in the player, expect his signing to be announced through an open car window.

It just wouldn’t be a transfer window without it, would it?
