Managerless Norwich City, managed to finish the season in 8th position despite been tipped for promotion at the beginning of the season.

The Canaries parted company with manager Alex Neil in March, and Alan Irvine took on the role as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

In the final ten games, Norwich managed to pick up 17 points, winning five and drawing two matches which helped them push up the league table and secure a top ten finish.

The club will be hoping that they can appoint a full time successor to Alex Neil as soon as possible, to give themselves every chance next season of achieving at least play-off football.

One of the biggest issues that Norwich had this season was that they leaked far to many goals. Conceding 69 times, saw the 'Canaries' with the worst defensive record out of the teams who finished from 20th upwards and this is something that the new manager will want to address quickly.

Two players who could support Norwich in their play-off bid next season and help defensively are Premier League duo Boaz Myhill and Joleon Lescott.

Following the news that number one goalkeeper John Ruddy was going to be released by the Canaries following the conclusion of this campaign, whoever comes in as new manager is going to have to enter the market for a new goalkeeper.

At 34 Myhill, currently West Bromwich Albion's number two goalkeeper behind Ben Foster, could prove to be an excellent first choice goalkeeper for Norwich.

Having played over 300 matches so far in his career, and played both Premier League and Championship football, Myhill would provide useful experience in between the posts at Carrow Road.

Lescott,  currently at Sunderland on a deal until the end of the season, could look to leave the Stadium Of Light following the teams relegation from the Premier League.

The goal scoring centre half could provide useful experience in the Norwich backline and help solve the teams defensive frailty next season.

Lescott, a Premier League winner would be available on Free transfer at the end of the season, and if guaranteed regular football could be tempted to make the move to Norfolk.
